Jackie Snape
Chief Executive
I started with the charity in 2001 and became Chief Executive in 2007. Originally trained as a nurse, I have spent most of my working life within management positions in health and social care. DAY is an amazing charity and I feel so proud of the achievements made by the organisation, our customers and our staff.Denise Baynton
Training Manager
I have spent my professional life in roles within training and education, working with a diverse mix of people across a broad range of settings. I am pleased to be able to bring my experience, skills and abilities to Disability Action Yorkshire, and lead the training department to provide bespoke solutions for disabled people, regardless of aspiration.Karen Minteh
Care and Support Manager
I have spent most of my working life in health and social care, joining Disability Action Yorkshire in 2013. Since then I have worked my way up to managing the care and support services of the charity. No two days are the same and I get immense satisfaction seeing our customers develop their independent living skills.Chair of Trustees
Neil Revely (Chair)
I was delighted to be appointed as chair of Disability Action Yorkshire in 2016. I'm pleased to be able to use my many years of experience at director level in local authority adult services to lead the organisation through an exciting period of change.Our Trustees

Andrew Newton
Andrew is our Vice Chair and joined the Board in 2014. He uses his lived experience of disability to ensure that all of the services we provide bring about the best possible outcomes for our customers.
Alison Craggs
Alison has been a trustee, and the treasurer since December 2016. She brings a wealth of experience in financial accounting in both the charity and commercial sectors.
Guy Tweedy
Guy has lived experience of disability and has been a campaigner for the victims of Thalidomide for over 20 years. He is keen to use his life and business experience to support the work of the charity
Andrew Simister
Andrew has lived experience of disability having recently been involved in an accident which resulted in a right leg, above the knee, amputation. Andrew is director of a company that supplies digital signage.
Carl Howard
Carl has an extensive business career working in senior positions for Barclays, HSBC, Aviva, Prudential and others and is Chief Executive of a charitable trust dealing with property.
Colin McCorkindale
Colin has a wealth of business experience in insurance and risk as well as significant experience of being part of a trustee board for an organisation with similar aims and values to ours.
Kathryn Leigh
Kathryn has had a wide and varied employment career as well as extensive experience of working on boards and committees. She has family experience of disability which has given her a breadth of knowledge of the challenges facing disabled people in all areas of life.
Laurence Whiteley MBE
Laurence has lived experience of disability and is a parasport rower, having won four Golds and one Silver medal, with the latest being Gold at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics.
Peter McBay
Up until 2019 Peter was a police officer, reaching the rank of detective inspector, for over 33 years. After leaving the police force he set up his own company reducing the risk of fraud, cyber-crime and financial crime to small to medium sized businesses
Susanne Driffield
Susanne is regional development manager of Muscular Dystrophy UK, a charity that is close to her heart. Her previous career path has been very different, with roles in sales and estate agents. Susanne has family experience of disability.
